@iEat15EggsADay hmm i tried your method and its been 5 games and didn't have any freeze, even got second and first in the last two games. I'll try again once I'm done with my lunch.
*update 1: playing for second session now, been playing 8 games at least with full party no crashes yet. (specs: i7-7700k, 16gb ram, 1650).
*update 2: playing duos with my friend and got the crash lol. I guess this method kinda makes your game crashed less.
Did they did a patch and didn't even fix it ?????????!!!! OMFG I don't know what to say anymore about this company
You guys are still freezing on other map or it's still on Broken Moon ? Just to know if it's worth starting the game or not

The new patch dropped but no fix to the freezing. But I believe there is a working solution here since I've been playing for almost 2 hours and no issues yet on Olympus.
Here's what you need to do to prove me wrong!
Stop the Game.
Press Windows+R
enter this: %userprofile%/Saved Games/Respawn/Apex/local/
go to the text file called "videoconfig"
search the Line "setting.csm_enabled" "1" (in the bottom half of the file)
make it "setting.csm_enabled" "0"
Ctrl+S or File > Save
Restart the game, do not change anything under the game settings/video options this will revert what you just did.
Test, IF IT WORKS GREAT!
IF IT DOESN'T!..... They killed the champion... I wanted him for myself.

I'm also running this under Steam proton on Manjaro Linux.
It's really unbearable! The game crashes during the jump now: UNPLAYABLE!!! Crash after crash every game! Forced to do an Alt+Ctrl+Supp to restart the game and the game in progress!!
Even the satisfaction questionnaire that you ask to fill bug on question 7 by asking me to answer (which I did but impossible to validate)!
I play since the first day with more than 1100 hours of play, it is the first time that such a bug occurs!!!

already tried that and i get the freeze even faster LMAO.
What is really the worst about it I play this game for about 3 years or so with 2k hours. I have never had any kind of issue or lags that were that bad to make me stop playing. Ever since Loba patch came out the game was stuttering/lagging/rubberbanding like hell so I quit, now I tried with new S15 patch and I was surprised that I can play without any lag stutter etc. but after 5minutes my game froze, I was like ok, some random freeze, but i dont care because the stuttering and lags are gone this is fine, but well the freeze occurs in every match so like in Loba patch the S15 patch made this game unplayble for me. I mean 2 years without any issue and now I am unable to play for like 2 months?? And yet the worst about this is mostlikely the same as it was with the problem before in Loba heirloom patch. Not a single answer from EA/Respawn and the fix came with new season patch. So I really think that they will not do anything about this guys and for those who are having the same issues like me now there is nothing other than wait maybe for another patch? But tbh in upcoming patch there might not be the freezing bug but mostlikely there will be something new that will make the game unplayable again. And again this has NOTHING TO DO WITH OUR HARDWARE OR CONNECTION. Because people are having the same issue on console platforms same as PC platform. So what are the odds that two such different platforms has the same type of problem. They just dont care because there is only few of us that has this kind of problem.

Buddy explain me what my PC in mid Europe has same as guy on PS4 in USA? For sure not connection and certainly not the same hardware setup. So how what I said could not be true? KEKW. The only same thing we have is the game. Like before in Loba heirloom patch they answered once with troubleshoot connection or hardware nothing helped. But all of sudden when patch S15 came my problem either from connection or hardware disappeared? I think that is weird isnt it. My point is that it has to be on their side and it certainly does effects only minority of players but I still consider this as problem on their side not on mine.

I would have thought that it wasn't necessary to explain how a nearly decade old console platform that literally always has freezing/crashing issues probably isn't experiencing the same bug as those of us on PC.
I'm not saying we have the problem. I'm saying we share the variable that causes the problem on their side, which means we might have a means to side-step the issue till its fixed and more importantly help reveal why this elusive bug is happening so that it can get fixed sooner. Whining and bitching isn't a solution.
How can I get a refund for my worthless battlepass since I can't play without crashing?
The main word being "might" or we also might not have any means to evade the problem. At least I and my friend with diametrically opposite systems could not find anything in common. He has high-end AMD CPU and GPU, I have low-end Intel and nvidia. He has windows 11, I have windows 10. We went as far as to check out Audio cards. They are also diffirent. And also Arenas work perfectly fine for both of us. There is quite literally nothing in common apart from having the same issue in the same game mode in the same game. And freeze occurs in the same fashion, but at diffirent times. Sometimes it would crasg 5 minutes after loading in, sometimes 10 seconds in. Sometimes it would crash mid-fight, sometimes in the middle of nowhere. But it always happens in BR, always out of nowhere, always ending up with 2.5gb of RAM usage and 0-1% of CPU usage.
I'd expect them to at least compensate BP levels that we are unable to earn at the moment.
