Lagging more with all settings on LOW

Hello! I've recently gotten hooked on Apex Legends and something I do on every FPS game I play is that I reduce all the graphics options to the lowest possible to be safe from fps lag and game crashes.
Something I noticed today was that I acctually have more FPS problems with all settings on low, not sure if I'm just being stupid or if I had toggled something important off but I'm really convinced that I lag less on default rather than everything on low.

Not sure what's recommended to play Apex but..

    Have you checked the nvidia control panel program settings for apex?

    Disable any buffering settings and check the settings in there are what you want them to be.

    Do the same for in game aswell, BUT the texture buffer setting in apex helps fps so be sure to turn that to what gives you the best fps!
