From what you described, this does sound like an account-linking and cross-progression issue. In Apex, progress and unlocked content are stored at the EA Account level, and cross progression does not merge progress from different EA Accounts together. If a platform gets linked to a different EA Account, it can make the account look reset or make content appear missing.
If your friend was helped before, it was most likely around getting the platform re-linked correctly rather than restoring progress from a different EA Account.
A couple of things worth checking:
- Make sure Steam is connected to the exact same EA Account.
- Avoid unlinking and relinking further unless you’re certain it’s the right EA Account, since that platform links may not be switchable right away, and progress won’t transfer between EA Accounts.
