For whatever reason my FPS would drop from 140 FPS capped to 60 FPS on average (worse in certain areas of Olympus). Had no issues until Aftermarket update (which I then fixed after thoroughly scouring the Internet). Then, once S7 launched, they came back with a vengeance and up to now, have not been able to fix. Does not happen when I play other games like LoL or Minecraft (and yes I know these are some of the least graphically demanding games out there compared to Apex but the important part is that my framerate is consistent in those games, with no drops).
Relevant Specs:
- CPU: Intel i7-9750H
- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti
- RAM: 16GB
- Have it running on an SSD
I have tried various things to try and solve this problem (for weeks now) with no avail. The things I have tried include:
- Messing with in-game settings
- Checking to see if drivers were up to date
- Messing with NVIDIA configuration
- Repairing the game
- Clearing the in-game cache
- Adding these codes to Advanced Launch Options (+gfx_nvnUseLowLatency0) and (+fps_max unlimited)
- Trying to run it using a different Windows admin account
- Launching it with administrator privileges
- Running it with a clean boot
- Reinstalling the game
Things I have not tried and probably won't try are:
- Reinstalling Windows
- Buying a new PC (lol)
The two things I tried that did end up working (at least until S7 got released) were:
- Reverting back to 452.06 for my drivers
- Installing RTSS
Send help pls
For context the two screenshots regarding my FPS were taken about 4 minutes apart. My FPS whenever I start up Apex is 140, which drops off to 60 around 5 minutes in the app (regardless of whether I'm playing or in the lobby). Only way to get normal framerates would be to restart my PC every 5 minutes, which needless to say is a pain in the *.
