Mouse cursor permanently on screen after latest update

Updated Apex today (14th March 2021) to play the new event. However, my mouse cursor is now permanently on the screen. I am still able to move it and look around but the cursor now drifts off the game screen when looking around, resulting in me clicking out of the game window if I attempt to shoot etc. Searched and saw people suggesting turning off Origin/Discord/Nvidia overlays to fix - tried this but no luck. Tried repairing the game files and reinstalling both Origins and Apex but this hasn't worked. Even just tried switching between fullscreen to borderless to windowed, or plugging in a controller to get rid of the cursor in the hopes it "resets" it. No luck as the mouse cursor still stays on the screen even as I'm moving the controller cursor around.

This only happened after the latest update for the Chaos Theory event and I'm really keen to try it out, but playing proves impossible since I end up clicking out of the game during a fight and looking around. Aside from turning off overlays or reinstalling, has anyone come across any other fixes for this? Would be eternally grateful for your help, thank you! 🙂

@KelseyRaiyne To confirm you have turned off Origin-in-game? If so are you running any other software or Anti-virus when this happens?

  • @EA_Illium  Thank you for replying 🙂 Yes, Origin In-Game is turned off. I've tried running the game with nothing but the necessities open along with temporarily turning off my anti-virus. Still no luck there! Nothing on my PC had changed overnight aside from this event update and one Steam game update so I'm at a bit of a loss

@KelseyRaiyne Could you also try disabling Origin in-game and any other overlays you have running?
