PC & PSN Crossplay Issue

G'day y'all.

I have been searching and searching for answers to this issue but there hasn't been any luck so far, so I thought I'd ask directly here.

Basically, I'm on PC (Steam) and my friend is on PSN. I want to play with my mate, and have tried using everything such as our EA ID's, usernames, emails, etc. My friend can apparently see my account and can invite me but I will not receive anything on my end, however, I cannot see my friend at all no matter what we tried. As far as I know our privacy settings are set appropriately, we are both in game on the same servers and both of us obviously have our status as "online". I just cannot find any fix to this issue and am coming to a conclusion this may be a bug?
