Possibly Hacked?

Hi everyone,

Hopefully this has happened to someone else as well, because I'm not entirely sure what to do now.  My fear is that my account has been hacked or something.  I'll explain whats going on.  

I haven't played Apex legends for months.  I play on Xbox.  The last time I played was around when the new character with the skull looking face was introduced.  Recently, I tried to hop into Apex legends and play again, but when I tried to play it said that my account was invalid.  So I looked up the issue and a lot of people have had the same problem.  The common cure appeared to be that if you change your password, then everything will be fixed.  So, I hopped on to the EA site and tried to login to change my password.  But I couldn't login.  I tried to reset my password, but the email never reached my email address.  Eventually, one reset email reply was sent to my email address.  I clicked the link, and reset my password.  When I tried to login after resetting my password, it again said that my email or password was still invalid.  I even tried to login through my xbox gamertag (via that xbox button that is by the login on here) and again it stated that my account was invalid.

Thinking that something weird must be going on, I attempted to make a new login with the same email account to see what would happen.  I didn't think it would work, but strangely it let me make a new account with that same email.  So now I have this EA account which I am able to log into, but my other account (which is attached to this same email?) I don't have access to.

To my knowledge I've never been hacked before, but this all seems incredibly strange to me.  So, my only thought is that maybe my account was hacked?  Has anyone else dealt with this before?  I've tried to contact EA about this, but anytime I'm free to do so it says that the chat isn't available?  Not really sure what to do or try at this point.  

Mostly what I want is to be able to play Apex on my xbox gamertag again.  I've had the tag for well over 10 years.  I hadn't spent a lot of money on my apex account, so if it was reset or whatever it wouldn't be a huge economic loss.  However, I had unlocked a ton of items from events and playing in the ranked seasons, so losing that would be a pretty big bummer.
