Random Packet Loss for whole Match / Lobby broke after short games

Hello there,

i can play to types of Matches in Apex:

  • One of them works fine - no laggs, not loss, nothing. I really enjoys these games.
  • The other matches i have "packet loss" from the beginning to the end

I already tried the basic and advanced troubleshooting steps:

  • I am connected via kabel
  • I start and shutdown my pc every day
  • I restarted my router already and it has up-to-date firmware
  • I have consistent and good internet (100Mbit/s Down, 40Mbit/s Up)
  • I switched to different server across europe
  • I used the recommended DNS
  • No VPN
  • etc...

But i have still the same issues. The reason why i think its not located on my side is, that i have only these two types of games, works and works not - throughout the whole game. If it starts with loss it will end with loss. If it starts fine, it ends fine. Nothing between. It´s like a coin-flip if i get on a good server or not. If the problem would be on my side, it would change throughout the game (i also had this). But its not like that. And its the only game where i have this kind of issues. None other game had this kind of issues before.

I also have the issue, that if the game is to short (like 2 min) my lobby gets "broke". This means i can press "ready" but in my view i am not ready. If my Teammates find a match, they are in the game but without me. The fix for this is to leave the lobby and join it again. Then i am able to ready up and everything works. This started with season 3 - and continues till today :D

If you could provide any kind of information how i can debug this issue to find the problem please let me know. Its very annoying if you need to reconnect after each game, and every second or third game has packet loss.

Thanks in advance.

PS: If i can provide any kind if information like logs or whatever just let me know where i can find or create them and i will do it.

  • @PiXx0-BF  For most of the network issues, that we are seeing it's network hubs that you are getting routed to are having issues.

Inside the red box are potential server hubs that keep sending your data to the end destination and in this case our server. If one of those servers hubs has an issue with being overworked or cant handle the data it will reflect on your connection to us and in-game (bad ping, loss of connections, data loss and so on). This is outside of our domain and control as we don't control how your data get sent to us only that our system accepts it.

    My great paint skills.

I suspect that you keep getting hit by bad routing.

  • Hi @EA_Atic ,

thank you very much for your response.

I know that you are not responsible for each hop, but because its the only game which has this issues i am quite sure its not a basic / general routing problem.

Is there any way to validate this information? Some test Page / Server which i can use or something else? I really would like to understand that problem and solve it if can. But Apex has very little options to do this.

Is there always a new connection on each match? Because if not that theorie would not work out.
