Re: All progress gone

Hey @1ngtreeep,

Are you able to try signing back into the account one more time to see if the Cross Progression notification reappears? Let me know if that shows up and if you're seeing any change afterwards.

This would need to be after this post to check for the latest, however if after that point you're still seeing only the level 1 account I'm afraid the progress would be lost, yes.

  • Hey @EA_Mako ,

first of all, thank you for your effort!

I signed in on PC and PS5, both accounts are still, sadly, on level 1. This is a real bummer to be honest, I never agreed to a deletion of my account data.

So there is no way EA can assist me in this case ? Sorry to ask that again, but it is hard to believe.

    Hey @1ngtreeep,

If your platforms have been linked back to the original EA account and you're still not seeing anything restored, there unfortunately wouldn't be anything more we could do in that case, I'm sorry.

Any time an account is unlinked there's a possibility the progress will be lost, and while re-linking can often restore that progress it's sadly not always the case.

Our unlinking article goes into this, and any time an account is unlinked manually through the account page a warning is presented as well.

Additionally this is a warning that should be provided any time support assists there, so while it won't restore the progress, I'd definitely suggest pulling up the old case from your case history page to provide feedback if the advisor you'd spoken with did not communicate that to you.

  • Hey @EA_Mako ,

I've read the disclaimer before unlinking my accounts, it only provided a warning about temporary problems to the accessability to my game data, at no place I've ever read that it could lead to a permanent deletion of my whole account data. This warning was neither provided by the support staff nor by the website itself. The only hint I see now is the, quote: "You MAY be able to get your stuff back" under the risks topic, which hasn't been displayed before I unlinked the accounts. And being an attorney myself, this would not hold up as a "warning" at all.

Once again, i appreciate your effort @EA_Mako and of course know, you got nothing to do with how this probably not unique situation is being handled, but it is utterly frustrating to see how EA is just accepting that people get their accounts deleted without even wanting it.

All the best for the future

    Hey @1ngtreeep,

For clarity, this is the warning that appears when unlinking a platform. The Steam mentions would be replaced with whichever platform is being unlinked.

The Apex specific portion to this would be, "If we unlink a platform account on your account that you use to play Apex Legends, you may lose your Battle Pass leveling and item unlocks, and you may have other errors." That would be in addition to the "You will also lose all game progress." mention at the end of the initial paragraph.

  • Hey @EA_Mako ,

I know that. But it states clearly that you "loose access" to the content, not that it is deleted. Then in the end it says "you can relink ...to retrieve your progress". The terminology does not indicate that linking it to another account causes a permanent loss, it rather indicates that you will loose access, which itself would be fine, cause that would mean, the original EA Account would still be the place where the game data is stored.

    Best wishes

    Philip
