Re: Apex crashing since season 3 - access violation, close to desktop errors

@Bjzor

The Dxdiag you linked didn't show up. Can you save the file from your PC and attach it to a new reply? We'll see what we can do to get this fixed for you. 👍

How to gather DxDiag information

@godnase

Moved your post over here. Can you include a DxDiag and let us know if any steps like @Bjzor mentioned were attempted from your end?

  • I assume this amount of crash logs should be sufficient, let me know if you need anything else @EA_Blueberry 🙂 Over the weekend I tried these additional steps:

    - downclocking memory to 2.933mhz, disabling XMP profiles, trying with XMP1, XMP2

    - playing around with OC settings, adding like 1.4v manually, adding offset of +0,2 to voltage, adding AVX offset -2, couldn't find any sweet spot. Only exception was resetting everything and stock with Intel's fail safe SVID but I didn't wanna test for more than 1 game as it pushed up voltage to maximums of 1.48v. With typical scenario from SVID and 4.9ghz core, nothing else changed from auto and it crashed.

    - CPU wasn't close to 100% usage aroud crashes as far as I could tell from MSI afterburn overlay (crashed if I didn't have that too)

    - updated GPU driver to the latest from Nvidia Geforce Experience

    With same settings BF5, PUBG, Quake Champions runs fine (even if streaming during it), awaiting your advice what to do as now it crashes like every 1-3 game which is extremely frustrating..

  • Honestly, don't bother trying the thousand and one "workarounds" that don't work at all. There is a fundamental problem with the game engine. Search the error codes you get when you crash and half the results are for titanfall/battlefield. There is basically nothing you can actually do other than pray for good luck and hope one day the crashes might be solved. Seeing as the game is nearing a year from release, and the errors are found in other games by EA using the same engine, I wouldn't hold your breath.

    I built a brand new computer between S2 and S3 and the game crashes more now than before even with a higher-end system. It's just random as hell.

    @Bjzor

    Have you tried turning down the Texture Streaming Budget from the in-game settings?

    Have you updated BIOS lately?

    @EA_BlueberryI have had that on the lowest setting always, everything is on lowest except TSAA is on. I used BIOS version 0805 (which is Sep '18 release) until yesterday which I just upgraded to newest.

    Update: since upgrading to latest BIOS i haven't had any crashes yet in like 10 games, only one alt-tabbing in-out for a milisecond. Reseted BIOS settings, turned off lighting on MOBO, then OC'd to 4.8ghz all core.I will keep testing it.

  • @EA_BlueberryThank you for the help previously, after having the BIOS updated and the OC recalibrated I haven't had crashes yet, game runs stable and smooth. Kudos to you.

    @EA_BlueberryI have started experiencing some crashes few days ago, except one all with no error exit just exit to desktop but yesterday had one with an error log which was the same error code as 3 weeks ago. attaching a new dxdiag & log, haven't changed anything since it got stable after the BIOS update. Could you please advise? 🙂

    Update: now just got a DXGI Device removed error.

    @Bjzor

    That is usually related to a faulty driver (or in some cases, a faulty card) so I recommend doing a clean uninstall of your video card driver and download it manually. In the Nvidia forums there are some user submitted workaround solutions here.

    @EA_BlueberryThanks, I will do a clean install on the nvidia drivers. It only happened once, so not really concerned.

    However, I am more concerned on the no-errors and it seems to have come back what was happening before the bios update. I was streaming, attaching the current log. I haven't changed anything since updating the BIOS. Just after this log I got a no-error back to desktop again.
