Re: Cant load Apex at 1280x720 fullscreeen

ohhh did you update your motherboard drivers when you upgraded from 7 to 10?

The win 7 drivers on a win 10 can be flakey.

If not follow my guide here and look at the core windows maintenence section:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/In-Depth-Trouble-shooting-Guide/m-p/7472105#M165

That should resolve any driver conflict when you upgraded your OS. (A lot of people thought win10 was unstable when it first came out but it was actually the drivers)

If you want you can follow through to issues relating to origins and apex legends.

if your sure that fixing apex wont help, the guide will remove files that are left behind and can cause issues.

The last thing to try is to nudge the game to communicate with the core GPU settings.

Follow this, number 2: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Can-t-change-native-resolution/m-p/7484326/highlight/true#M16672

  • To think about no I did not. Thank you, I will download these and head to my class ill update you when I get back.

Edit: it's weird because every solution I check everyone said to update your GPU drivers or its a GPU problem.

Chipset drivers are the core drivers for any PC, the only thing more hardware critical is the BIOS.

Low level fixes can be GPU drivers, but if the driver of the devices the GPU connects to are outdated. . .

Well you can guess the rest :P

That is a wierd error i see a lot of the time when doing motherboard drivers.

For now just skip it as the vga is for internal graphics.

  • Updated everything however VGA couldn't install so ignored that and I restarted. Once i booted up I tried VGA just one more time but still didn't work. Went back into the game and the Res and aspect ratio are still locked. Went and repaired the game just for extra measure and I still have that Origin Update issue and same with the res and aspect ratio.

Hmm just to eliminate whats left.

Follow the section of the guide which mentions issues relating to origin and apex.

In that guide is a deep uninstall that will redo Apex legends and origin.

The last thing is to make a new resolution that the game can detect but id rather address any possible issue that it was a corrupt file.

Ill write down how to do that in the next post.

Right click your desktop and open Nvidia control panel.

Go to adjust desktop size and positioning.

Tick the Override the scaling mocde in games and programs.

    Select perform scaling on: Display

    Tick full screen.

    Apply

    Next

    Go to Change resolution.

    Click customise.

Tick enable resolutions not exposed by the display.

    Click Create custom resolution.

Set the horizontal pixels to 1280.

    and vertical lines to 720.

    Click test

Confirm and apply everything till you reach the control panel again.

    select your custom resolution:

Apply then go into game and check the resolution is correct.

Once done come out of the game and back to the control panel and set it back to the native resolution.

then jump back in game and check your settings.

Now, if the problem is still there the only way to run the game in 720 is to set the display to 720 which would reduce the resolution for all other programs or games.

Other than that we have pretty much scraped the barrel at this point, so you may have to post a bug report about your issue and forward this post to show what has been done so far.

  • Wow even after apex and origin uninstall/reinstall it's still not working. This game is something.

  • It fixed it OMG also I don't have Nividia I actually have the AMD settings but it pretty much works for both. The hard uninstall and reinstall did fix the Origin issue. So thank you and I love you.

Do you have installed OBS Streamlabs and clicked in the optmization button for streaming? I did this and this create the bars on my gAME

What do you mean @SoulTiger7777 about hard uninstall?

  • No, I do not and when I meant by hard uninstall just like going within files just to delete them myself rather than just pressing the uninstall button. Like The_Tibber said when you press uninstall it doesn't fully delete everything. It's not like a real term or at least I don't think it is.
