I too would like to know how to prove or resolve this. I had no idea my internet was going to decide to take a dump, therefore leaving me to finally reconnect and given the "You can't join due to forfeiture" as I boot up the game. Is there a way to contact EA or Apex Legends to be able to see that was the case so that we are not penalized?

Afraid there is not a way to reverse or remove leaver penalties like this regardless of whether it was due to a disconnection or leaving manually, sorry.
Ultimately these have the same effect of leaving teammates a person down, so if this happens regularly we'd want to try some connection troubleshooting. If this was a one-off situation that timer would just need to be waited out, I'm afraid.
Aside from that, this thread is quite a few years old and is being locked here to avoid further necroposting.
