Hi @MBM44,
Do you have Apex Legends installed on an external storage drive, or is it stored on the built-in drive in your PS5?

It is store in my ps5 hard drive.
I also tried going back and playing on my ps4 and it was doing it also. And that is stored on a external hard drive.
If it's happening on both consoles I wonder if it's actually a network issue of some kind. Can we try out some connection troubleshooting to see if that helps at all?
When you've got the chance I'd recommend starting off with the basic connectivity troubleshooting steps from the EA Help website to see how that goes. If you're still seeing the same lag or stuttering after that check out the PlayStation-specific steps as well.
Let me know how that goes once you've had the chance to give it a shot. Thanks!

Yeah I’ll give it a try when I get home. The weird thing is that when I am in the Home Screen my screen freezers(skips) consistently. When I delete the game and redownload it. I can play just fine for the first two games while the HD texture is still downloading. As soon as it hits 100% on download it starts doing it again. And I have done this multiple times. I saw online multiple ppl had this problem last year but nothing so far this year. Thank you for responding back.
Hey Kent I tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions but nothing helped. I tried uploading a video but it says unsupported extension type. But the game freezes every three seconds in the Home Screen, when I’m picking a character and while I’m playing in a match.
I appreciate you giving that a shot. Which datacenter are you normally connecting to? Have you tried switching to any others to test and see if the same issue still happens?

I’m normally on the Virginia one. I just tried a couple different once. Didn’t help.
Got it, thanks!
If you haven't already can you try setting a different DNS on your PS5 to see if that helps? I've seen some cases in the past where changing the DNS can help with similar issues.
To update the DNS follow the steps below:
1. Open up your PS5 Settings
2. Select Network
3. Go to Settings and select Set Up Internet Connection
4. Choose Wi-Fi or LAN Cable depending on what kind of network connection you're using
5. Select DNS
6. Enter 8.8.8.8 as the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 as the Secondary DNS. This is the public Google DNS, but if there's a different DNS you would rather use instead that's OK as well.
7. Select Done
Let me know if that helps at all with the lag issues you've been seeing after that. Thanks!

Hey Kent I have been out of town for the past few days. So I have not had the chance to try changing my DNS. I did bring my PlayStation 5 with me and I connected via land at my parents house and it has work just fine. Which now I realize it has to be something with my internet. When I get back home I will let you know if switching the DNS will help. Thank you for all your help
