If you get this message, you normally just need to reset your EA account password: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/if-you-forgot-your-ea-account-id-or-password/#resetpassword

If that doesn't work for you, it's usually due to an account mixup, and one is resetting the password on an EA account that's not linked to the console account. 

To check for this, go to help.ea.com then log out. When you try to log in again you'll get the option to log in using your console credentials, use the Xbox portal to log in and it'll make sure you're on the right account.
