I think "linking" made you lose all your progress, because from what I assume you did it recently.
But honestly if that's not the case then i have no clue, response from someone who is more inteligent in this matter would be better or simply contact the support.
As for the merge, it's gonna come in waves so be patient! yes i did do it recently. so does that mean i'll get my progress soon?

Well linking and unlinking process is very delicate and can lead to losing progress etc.
I don't know how this works exactly so im not gonna even attempt to answer your question.
