I've run CPU and GPU stress tests and temps seem fine only going up to 80c or so with nothing happening to the computer. when I launch apex nothing seems to happen as well so no power spikes or anything.
Thanks,
Stove
I see, thanks!
Have you had the chance to try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot to test and see if that makes any difference? If there's anything else running that might be causing issues with Apex Legends that may help to get around it.
You can find more information on how to set up a Clean Boot over at the EA Help website. Once you've had the chance to give it a try please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

I appreciate that. There is something else I'd like to test as well.
Do you have another Admin user account in Windows? If so, can you try logging into Windows with that user account and try launching Apex Legends from there? If you need to set up a new Admin user check out the Microsoft Support website for more details on how to create one.
If you're able to give that a try please let me know if Apex Legends is still crashing. Thank you!

I think my computer just does not appreciate me at this point. It still doesn't work even on a new admin user with nothing downloaded other than steam and apex. I want to think it's something with my hardware but if it was I would crash when I run stress tests. I have no idea what to do at this point.
Thanks,

Thanks for giving that a shot as well! I'm sorry to hear it's still giving you trouble.
I am curious if there might be something going on in the registry that might be causing this. If you're comfortable with it you can try running a program like CCleaner to see if it can find any registry issues. Just keep in mind CCleaner is not EA software, and you would be running it at your own risk.
If you're interested in giving it a try check out the CCleaner website for more information on how to run it. Let me know how it goes if you're able to give it a go.
Thanks again!

Hey @Mr-Stove-Oven,
Would you be able to upload that video somewhere like Youtube and link it here? Answers HQ has weird issues with displaying videos sometimes. Thanks!

I just noticed that after my computer crashes and a re-launch steam it says that I do not have Apex Installed and it makes me redownload it

Hmmm, very strange. Do you have any other anti-cheat software installed aside from Easy Anti-Cheat? I've seen some cases where having other anti-cheat programs can cause weird issues with EAC, so I am curious if that may be a factor here as well.
/Kent
- 5 years ago@EA_Kent I'm actually having the exact issue as mr stove and was going to start my own thread. Brand new custom build with latest drivers. After clicking to continue, my pc forcefully reboots after a little loading. Same issue occurs when downloaded from steam or origin. Also tried clean booting with both clients.

A dxdiag if that helps.

@EA_Kent
The only other anti-cheat that I have would be VAC so I'm not sure if this would be the problem
Thanks,Stove

I haven't seen any issues with VAC in particular, so I don't think that's likely to be causing the crashes.
@Zelphae Have either of you tried rolling back to an earlier graphics driver to test and see if that makes a difference? Back at the beginning of Season 8 I was seeing a number of people who were having issues on more recent drivers, but rolling back to drivers from last December seemed to help.
If that's something you could try can you let me know if it helps? Thank you!

@EA_Kent
I tried rolling back my graphics driver but as this was a factory reset drive I don't have an older graphics driver to go back to. I will see later tonight if I can go onto my old drive and roll that driver back but I am unsure of how to go to an older driver version on my main drive.
Thanks,Stove

I tried downloading a older graphics card driver from October of 2020 which should be working but its not. Is there anything else I could try?
Thanks,

I appreciate you giving that a shot as well.
In your case is this only happening if you're running the game through Steam? Have you tried installing and launching it through Origin to see if it's still crashing that way as well?
/Kent
- 5 years ago@EA_Kent It’s the same when I launch it from steam or origin but I have been able to get further into the game on steam.

Got it, thanks!
Do you have any controllers connected to your PC at the moment, such as an Xbox or PS4 controller?

The only things I have plugged in are my mouse and keyboard, headphones, speaker, and Ethernet - EA_Kent5 years ago

Got it, thanks! I just wanted to make sure because we've recently seen some issues where controllers have been causing some issues with DX12.
Since you recently installed a new motherboard there is something else I was curious about. Have you checked in your BIOS to see if the board is set to use PCIe 4.0 rather than 3.0? Some newer boards give you the option so I am curious if it may have defaulted to using PCIe 4.0. If your GPU doesn't support it, that might be related to what we've been seeing.
When you have the chance can you open your BIOS and see which version of PCIe it's using? If it's set to use PCIe 4.0 can you try changing it to 3.0 to see if that makes any difference?
Thanks again!

I just changed it to PCIe 3.0 and its still crashing. I also just noticed that it is crashing my computer when I play Rust as well so i really have no idea whats going on.
Thanks,

Hey guys, I just want to say that this might be helpful for this thread:
check your event viewer in windows:
1.Press Ctrl+R to get "run" windows popped up on the bottom left screen.
2.Type eventvwr.msc in the prompt and press Enter.
3.Goto windows logs/system on the left navigation panel like this:
4.look for Event ID: 12, Source: Kernel-General that should say something about "The operating system started at system time xxxx-xx-xx-xx"
and there should be plenty of errors and warnings below this Event that could be helpful to diagnose this problem.
if possible, please send the result as screenshots or video recordings.

Hmm, I found a lot of these events but there are no errors or warnings below it. Here is what I have found.
Thanks,
Stove
