Add SOVIS-Light Portal option.
TLDR:
See attatched image, give portal experiences an option to choose between current FULL SOVIS illumination, and a new PID Band Only SOVIS illumination. (and make this default on in the hardcore preset tbh)
LR:
For those who dont know (pretty sure its default on) in HUD options there's the SOVIS filter. basically makes all soldiers slightly off illuminated so they stand out in the environment.
personally, i dont mind this setting as it means people with various specs (both hardware and biological) can play more equally. BUT, it also makes being sneaky for a flank or crawling through grass to get up on something nearly impossible.
So there should be an option for SOVIS FULL, or SOVIS PID.
Full option being what we have now. PID basically being colored 'bands' of the same subtle current off-illumination around one leg, both arms, and the back of the head. More subtle to not give away positions as easily but focusing will reveal friend or foe in the environment. (still probably more of a 'hardcore' server setting then 'core'.)
by using the filter, it also won't be that noticeable up close and interfere with skins or look that bad. And by tinting these 'bands' based off the color palette of the user's friend or foe icon colours, itll allow players to ID ally from enemies in limited to no hud gamemodes (something quite hard with the wide variety of skins that mix and match armors and colours).
I'm suggesting this be left as a portal/gametype option for experience customisability. And simplicity. Users don't gain or lose options, but hosts can choose another setting similar to HUD settings we already have access to.
See attached image for example, obviously size and brightness of the bands would be adjusted to balance out / match with current SOVIS brightness in various environments.
