It has definitely gotten harder to stay alive in helicopters lately. It was easier when the game was new and people had fewer weapons to use against helis. Now plenty of people have unlocked the guided tank shells, RPG, and the broken paint/missile combo. Obviously, the paint/missile thing is a bug and will be fixed. But it will still be hard for helis after that. As someone who flies helis almost exclusively, I have learned how to stay alive in this game. Watching the pros in YouTube videos helped. It takes a lot of low flying, carefully timed flares, and attack runs with well planned egress routes. I still die several times per round, but I get 20-30 kills flying solo, and 80+ with a good gunner. A skilled heli pilot can still absolutely clean up in this game, so it makes sense for it to be hard. If it wasn't, then average pilots would dominate every round and that wouldn't be good for game balance. That being said, I think it should be a little harder to kill helis with the guided tank shells. Maybe make them fly a little faster, which will make them harder to aim.
What keeps me up at night is the planned addition of the little bird. It was always a serious threat to attack helis in 2042, and I'm afraid it will make life truly impossible for attack helis in BF6.
