Hardcore Is Being Actively Buried – And You’re Losing Players Because of It

Let’s stop pretending this is accidental.

Hardcore is being systematically hidden and sidelined. One rotating Hardcore mode, buried deep in the menu, available for a week on a single server, while the rest of the game offers dozens of Normal-mode variants front and center. That is not support. That is tokenism.

The result is simple. Most players do not even know Hardcore exists.

And that is a problem, because Hardcore is, in almost every meaningful way, the better Battlefield experience.

In Hardcore, players are not bullet sponges, which immediately raises the skill ceiling. Every engagement forces players to think, not just spray. Teamplay actually matters. Gadgets like spawn beacons finally have real tactical value instead of being background noise. Every weapon is viable, not just a handful of absurd meta builds.

Meanwhile, Normal mode devolves into what many Battlefield veterans never wanted: bullet-sponge gunfights, artificial balance, and meta loadouts straight out of a COD mindset – fast, shallow, and dominated by players chasing builds instead of objectives.

Hardcore does not dumb the game down. It elevates it.

And yet you have decided to hide it.

Because Hardcore is barely visible, players who would actually enjoy Battlefield at its best quietly suffer in Normal, assume the game feels wrong, or simply leave altogether.

That is on you.

What the community is asking for is not radical. We want a full, permanent Hardcore option available for all servers and all modes, clearly visible in the main menu. Not a weekly experiment. Not a hidden submenu. Not a single server thrown a bone.

Hardcore should be a first-class mode, not an afterthought.

Battlefield is at its strongest when it rewards positioning, coordination, and consequences. Hardcore already does this. The only thing missing is your willingness to stop burying it.

Fix the visibility. Give players a real choice. Stop forcing everyone into a watered-down Normal mode they never asked for.
