Legacy Map DLC Proposal: Let’s bring the BF3 & BF4 soul to the BF6 Engine

I’ve spent over $130 dollars on BF6 so far and while the destruction is easily the best in the entire series, the current map pool is starting to feel small and repetitive. We have this incredible next-gen engine, but we are missing the legendary "war atmosphere" and massive scale of the older titles.

My Recommendation: I strongly urge the developers to consider a "Legacy Remake DLC." Take the iconic maps from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, like Damavand Peak, Siege of Shanghai, and Caspian Border and fully remake them using the BF6 destruction and lighting.

I believe many of us veterans would be happy to pay $50 – $60 USD for a massive, high-quality Legacy expansion pack. It would give the community the large-scale gameplay we crave while finally making use of this engine’s full potential.

Who else would buy this on day one?

LAW92G I completely agree with you.

In my opinion, legacy content is one of the biggest keys to bringing Battlefield 6 back to its golden era and attracting a lot of veterans who are currently on the fence.

The current engine is incredibly powerful, especially with destruction, but it feels underutilized without those iconic large-scale maps that defined Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.

I also think Battlefield Studios is not leveraging this enough. There is huge untapped potential in legacy content—not just maps.

It shouldn’t stop at remastered maps. We could also have:

    Legacy soldier skins (BF3 / BF4 classes)

Classic weapons brought back with modern customization

Themed squads/factions inspired by older titles

Even legacy-style sound design and atmosphere

A full “Legacy” approach would not only bring nostalgia, but also restore the identity and immersion that made Battlefield unique.

If done properly, this could honestly be one of the best moves for the long-term health of BF6.

I’d definitely buy it day one.

Please, speak for yourself. You paying more than the base price is your own doing and not a bright one. Paying for skins, camos, or any of that other garbage is just a waste. You're the only one who sees what you bought, besides the first seconds before the match starts, when 3 other people see it. And let me tell you, it's forgotten about seconds later. Yes, we want real BF maps. But paying another 50 to 60 dollars, like you say, nahhh. The old 35 dollar expansion pack price is fine.

numone17 I get your point, and honestly I agree on some parts.

For maps, I really think they should be free and integrated into seasonal updates. That’s core Battlefield content — locking maps behind a paywall has always split the player base, and we’ve seen in the past that it hurts matchmaking and the overall experience.

When it comes to skins and cosmetics, I see it differently. I understand why some of them are paid — it’s optional content and a way for the game to generate revenue after launch. That said, I do agree it would be nice to have more free customization options available, so everyone can enjoy some level of personalization without paying.

At the end of the day, paid cosmetics are a choice. No one is forced to buy them, and some players enjoy that aspect of customization — even if others don’t see the value in it.

But yeah, for maps specifically, I’m 100% with you — they should be part of the base experience, not extra paid content.
