On Feedback and Complaints

There is something I really want to get off my chest that I fear might become very worrying.

When it comes to feedback in this game, it appears the community is very split on some points, myself included and I would like to give my two cents on the matter with included examples.

Particularly what worries me is the feedback a certain crowd gives, especially after having very little time hands on in the game. Here it is important to note on some of my background so if someone from the Dev team or on EA will read this, they can take into account. I work in the game development industry as a play tester in QA, additionally I have been playing FPS games professionally in tournaments from CS 1.6 to Global Offensive, the original CoD MW games, and on the side I am a streamer and content creator. I have also played every single BF title since BF1942 when it originally came out about 20 years ago, participated in the BF4 CTE and so on, thusly I can confidently say I have a decent understanding on what I am about to share.

In regards to the changes made to the progression, I believe these changes are bad and actively detrimental to the game. Battlefield historically has always been about progress and playing for the long game, not just quick dopamine hits.

Currently, in a match I get 15-25 kills on average. This is not a lot and used to be plenty to get one weapon mastery level per game. This was perfect. Now I play for a couple of hours and have already unlocked most useful things for the guns I use, and simply don't bother with the rest of the attachments. This negates some of the satisfaction of actually playing with the weapon, learning how they work, and in the long run will make the game not as fun considering there are about 40-50 guns present, which is not a lot, especially when keeping in mind that most players will never upgrade all weapons, as each player has a unique playstyle that doesn't include all firearms. Not to mention a lot of players get the attachments to lower the recoil of the guns and barely look at anything else to simulate what it's like in another certain franchise.

Now to the point, after the latest patch, I was playing with a friend on stream in Twitch and have everything recorded on what I am about to say. We jumped in on a CQB mode to complete some challenges for class skins and progress our guns as it is an infantry only mode, makes sense. He was goofing around with the RPG mainly, and still managed to get a full level of his MP7 unlocked with around 5-7 kills, 22 deaths and not playing the objective. Even he agreed it was too much XP for nothing essentially. Me on the other hand, I was playing seriously to prove a point on stream that with around 15-20 kills I can now unlock a whole 2 levels of mastery in the timespan of a roughly 10 minute game. This is not OK. I don't use XP boosters and didn't complete the challenge as we had to win the game, which we unfortunately lost, so all my XP came purely from kills.

This change worries me and I will explain why. You cannot make everyone happy as every person has a different understanding of what they like and don't like. Most people don't play for long enough, nor do they take into consideration what makes a Battlefield game a Battlefield game to give proper feedback on what is OK and what isn't. With that in mind, as much as I don't like doing this, I have to state the obvious. We all now BF6's main competitor is CoD BO7, and CoD is currently failing. Most CoD players are currently playing BF6. While everyone's feedback is important, you MUST NOT make changes based on everyone's opinion. In CoD you get 30+ kills easy and level up fast. BF is not CoD.

I fear that with the demands of this vocal crowd BF6 will lose its identity which is supposed to be different from CoD. Please, please, please, take a moment to think about what made BF6 so successful and don't cave into things like this. With a certain group of people you will give them a little and they will want more. They are now complaining that the camos for the guns are not flashy enough to show off their achievements. Please, do not add gold, chrome, or flashy guns. Please do not add funny, flashy class skins. They will release the new CoD game, all those players will go there, and the BF players will leave because BF will become a spin off CoD game.

Below I am sharing proof of attaining 2 mastery levels directly pulled off my stream for about 15 kills with the MP7.

Apologies for the long winded post, but I really care about this game, this franchise and where it's going.

Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day!
