Open Beta Debrief (Reaction)

I just finished reading the Open Beta Debrief and it looks like they listened to a lot of the feedback from players which was fantastic to see. I was happy to read that a lot of tweaks and balances would be implemented into bf6. I still believe there is a BIG issue with them leaving the weapons open.

Battlefield was meant to be a squad base game but by leaving an additional game mode that allows you to select open weapons defeats that main purpose. Then you wind up with games like Battlefield 2042....Not a fan. What do you guys think? Does the debrief sound good to you?

Check the Community Update page for the full list of changes being made in BF6.

  • Open / Closed weapons were just a beta thing. Previous games (other than 2042) have had class locked weapons, with BF1 having entirely unique primaries, side arms, and gadgets, as well as very recognizable class character models.

I imagine that their data shows no significant difference in class diversity whether assault rifles were limited to assault. The support class was incredibly over powered, particularly on maps / modes without vehicles, and otherwise engineer was the only other useful class. You could have had support go without a weapon for as much as it seemed like some players were running around only reviving, especially with how ludicrously strong the defibs are both for instantly reviving entire squads, and shotgunning enemies in close quarters.
