Preserve Battlefield: Spawn Beacon on Recon Map Freedom Paid Servers Hardcore
Hello Battlefield Team,
I would like to share my concerns about several important points from the beta and recent announcements.
Spawn Beacon moved to Assault
Moving the spawn beacon from Recon to Assault is, in my opinion, a mistake.
This reminds me of decisions made for BF2042, where you tried to appeal to a Call of Duty–style audience. The result was clear: the game was quickly abandoned by both casual players and the true Battlefield community, disappointed to see the franchise’s identity diluted.
Assault players, being naturally more aggressive, are likely to place the beacon:
In exposed areas, leading to frequent spawn kills.
Too close to objectives, undermining strategy.
Without the tactical mindset of Recon players.
Recon, with its infiltration playstyle, usually placed beacons in safe, strategic positions beneficial to the squad.
Suggestion: keep the beacon with Recon or make it available to both classes with balanced variations.
Map freedom and verticality
The beta maps are excellent as they are.
The essential thing to preserve is freedom of movement: allow players to access rooftops, high ground, and elevated building areas.
Please avoid repeating BFV’s mistake of blocking too many zones, which removes charm, fun, and tactical depth unique to Battlefield (ambushes, surprises, vertical gameplay).
turn of paid, fully customizable private servers
Many players want the return of paid private servers like in older Battlefield games.
Why?
Free servers allow others to copy an existing server (same settings, same name), creating confusion and drawing players away from the original server.
Paid servers, with identified owners and unique configurations, prevent such abuses and provide a stable, well-moderated environment.
They also strengthen community engagement, as owners invest time and resources to offer a quality experience.
Bringing back this system would give the community real control over matches and reduce abuse caused by server copying.
A true Hardcore mode
It is essential to offer a true Hardcore mode, faithful to the spirit of classic Battlefield:
Very low TTK, close to real life.
No mini-map, encouraging observation, communication, and tension.
Removal of unnecessary on-screen aids for maximum immersion.
This mode should cater to players seeking demanding, tactical, and realistic gameplay, not just a slight variant of the standard mode.
Conclusion
Battlefield must remain true to its identity: freedom, creativity, strategy, and a strong community.
Trying too hard to please an audience that will not stay long term risks losing these foundations. Please listen to the true Battlefield community and protect what makes this franchise unique.
