From a battlefield player for years! I have finally bought this game on sale and I am very disappointed in the pathway this game is going. I had a bad feeling coming from the beta; but here are reasons why.
- Maps: The maps in battlefield are what made battlefield, with the amazing standard battlefield 1 left off with breakthrough; the maps now feel clustered and more like call of duty. I understand you want players to feel “immersed” but to what extent? The possibility of flanks are gone because the objectives are so closed in, you’re just walking into death. At this point, bf6 needs to bring the old maps back because the new maps are very underwhelming.
2. Weapons: I have to say, the gunplay is very nice! There is a sense of satisfaction from kills, the sound of the guns are very immersive. My biggest issue is the LACK OF RECOIL, the TTK in battlefield has always been quick and simple. Which is fine, but when guns are literally lasers from half the map, that is where I get very annoyed. HOT TAKE: nerf weapon recoil all around to compensate for lack of health. I compare the recoil from “the finals” why? Because former dice employees made that the perfect feel of recoil and satisfaction. Now, guns just feel like COD beaming, which makes me question the “realism” of this game.
3) Server size: I think bf6 devs are playing maps safe to make combat very action based, but to combat that just do what yall did in 2042… do 64v64! It's already very chaotic enough with 32v32 on breakthrough, you guys truthfully have yet to find the perfect balance (cough cough unlike bf1) to know what server size is suitable for which game mode. Thus why the scrutiny you guys receive from 2042 for making maps “too big” actually scared you guys truthfully. I guess Im still reminiscing from the great days of battlefield and how much of a masterpiece it was to now this.
