Why remove Gauntlet? Rotating playlists suck, it was the perfect squad mode.

Hey everyone,I'm honestly so gutted that Gauntlet was completely removed with the launch of Season 5.It makes zero sense to vault a free mode like this without giving the community a proper heads-up. Personally, I was incredibly hooked—I literally reached level 170 before I even decided to buy the full game.To me, Gauntlet captured the true essence of Battlefield. It was all about tactical squad play, dynamic objectives, and a competitive pacing you couldn't find anywhere else. Instead of killing it off to push these rotating playlists—which honestly, nobody likes because we just want to play what we actually enjoy—they should have leaned into its competitive potential. They could've easily supported it with community tournaments or an official Ranked mode.&nbsp;The matchmaking excuse doesn't hold up either. Lobbies filled up instantly, and a ton of us were playing it every single day as a refreshing break from the usual Battle Royale.Is anyone else feeling completely sidelined by this move? Is there any hope they'll bring it back permanently, or is this just another great concept thrown into the trash?

Edit: I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling this way. I've been checking Reddit and other threads here on the EA forums, and the backlash is absolutely massive.

People are furious, and a lot of players are straight up boycotting the other modes or uninstalling the game entirely. Forcing Gauntlet fans into standard BR or Rapid Royale is a joke and it's not going to work; we are just going to stop playing.

DICE made a huge mistake with this decision. They need to realize that they are pushing away their most loyal squad-play community.

Same here. Season 5 vaulted Gauntlet with zero warning, and they did the exact same thing to Carrier Strike, the best large-scale mode this game has had. It's a pattern: modes we love disappear without a word, and we're left guessing if they'll ever come back.

My guess is that gauntlet will eventually reappear in multiplayer. Many people who enjoyed gauntlet played it for free in Redsec—which is probably why they are so mad, as there are no other options there besides battle royale. I’m sure many of them would gladly buy the main game to continue playing the mode they enjoy. It wouldn’t make sense for EA to give up on so many potential customers.
