Hello there, i've been seeing a lot of other people having this issue aswell but figured id post here just to see what people have found as of now.

I was able to play just last week on my old computer, as i recently got a new rig i figured i'd download BF 2042 to try and progress with the cosmetics and such for BF6 as im sure other folks are doing aswell. Unfortunately im completely unable to get into either BF 2042 or BF1, every time i try to launch either game it pops up on the EA App with the same error "Failed to launch game, An error on our end caused the launcher to fail. Try again a little later."

This has been an ongoing issue for me since last Friday, but i've seen posts going back a few months with people having similar issues. 

I've tried essentially everything besides reinstalling my BIOS and reinstalling Windows, which i honestly think is a little much just to be able to play a select few games as im not willing to potentially screw with anything related to either my BIOS or Windows.

That being said, i hope someone here has something i've not yet tried.

Just to add, I tried launching BF 2042 through both steam and the EA App and i tried launching BF1 just through the EA app because i bought BF1 on Origin when that was still a thing. Doubt this info is of any importance but figured i'd put it here just in case. I am also not using any of the mentioned preview / insider versions or updates of windows as mentioned in the comments of a post from another user.

Important: Windows Insider Preview Users

If you use Windows Insider Preview builds or updates (especially Preview updates KB5064075 and KB5064071), please note these are beta/preview versions not supported by EA and often cause launch problems. We recommend:

1. Disable Windows Insider Preview builds.
   1. See: Leave Windows Insider Program
2. Uninstall Insider updates KB5064075 and KB5064071 (Windows 10/11 uninstall guides linked below).
3. Roll back to a stable Windows version if possible.

Detailed Troubleshooting Steps

1. Run and Repair EA Anti-Cheat Installer

• Download the EA Anti-Cheat installer here: https://cdn.eaanticheat.ac.ea.com/EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe
• Run EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe as Administrator (right-click > Run as administrator).
• In the dropdown menu, select your game (e.g., Battlefield 2042, FC25, etc.).
• Click Repair to uninstall and reinstall the anti-cheat service for the game.
• Wait for the process to complete, then restart your PC and try launching the game again.

If repair doesn't fix the issue, proceed to uninstall/reinstall:

• Run the installer again.
• Select your game and choose Uninstall.
• Once uninstalled, reboot your PC and run the installer again.
• Select Install to reinstall a fresh copy of the anti-cheat.
• Restart your PC and launch the game.

2. Close Conflicting Background Apps

• Ensure all background apps that might interfere are closed (we've heard that sometimes MSI Afterburner, Rivatuner, or other third-party overlays or monitoring software may interfere).
• Use Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to close these apps completely.

3. GPU Driver Fixes

• NVIDIA users:
  • Restore your driver settings to defaults through the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Or download and clean-install the latest NVIDIA driver for your GPU from the Nvidia website.
    • Choose advanced install > check “Perform a clean installation.”
  • Restart your PC and repair EA Anti-Cheat again before launching.
• AMD users:
  • Open AMD Adrenalin software and navigate to the "Gaming" tab.
  • Select your game and disable all game-specific optimisations.
  • Launch the game after the changes.

4. Windows Updates and Caching

• Some Windows updates, especially KB5063878 and KB5064081, have been linked to game launch errors.
• If you have these installed, uninstall them via the official Microsoft guides:

• After uninstalling, restart your PC and run the EA Anti-Cheat repair again.
• For users of the EA app or Steam:
  • Perform app recovery in the EA app and repair your game.

  • Always run both the EA app and Steam as Administrator before launching.

5. Temporarily Disable the EA app Overlay

• Disable the in-game overlay via the EA app settings to see if that works.

• Your EA app Error Reporter ID (instructions here: EA app Error Reporter)
• A DxDiag report:
  • Press Windows + R, type dxdiag, save all information, and attach the file. See: DxDiag info

To my surprise, that fixed it!

Hey everyone, I managed to fix the issue — it was entirely caused by the latest Windows 11 update. To solve it, follow these steps (this worked on my PC):

- Open Windows 11 Settings  
- Go to the System section  
- Select Recovery  
- Under Recovery options, choose to "Go back to the previous version of Windows" (before the update)

Note: You can only do this within 10 days of installing the update. After that, you’ll have to wait for a new update or hope EA fixes the issue.Hope this helps — enjoy your games!

!! ISSUE SOLVED !!

The problem for the issue has to be Windows Update KB5064071 oder Windows Update KB5064075. 

I deinstalled these Quality Updates via WinRE. And everythings works now. 

Found out just how to uninstall the last 2 Windows updates from last night. Uninstalled the 1st, restarted and it works again. 8 hours later

Since two weeks im not able to play any EA App games anymore. No matter which game or account. 

I tried everything possible to solve this. But its simpy not working. The reason could be an EA App Update or an Windows Update. 

If anyone had the same problem in the last days or weeks, i would like to know the solution. 

If there is no solution i want EA to solve this issue ASAP!!!
