Hello,
I'm writing to clarify the current political and territorial status of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, which appears to be inaccurately assessed for the purpose of game distribution policies.
Despite the ongoing conflict and temporary Russian occupation of some areas, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts remain internationally recognized sovereign territory of Ukraine. The cities of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, along with the vast majority of their regions, are currently controlled by the Ukrainian government and military.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on the actual territories under Ukrainian governmental control, we strongly suggest consulting reliable maps detailing the current line of contact/front line of military operations. These maps clearly illustrate the areas where Ukrainian civilian administration and control are fully operational.
Given this internationally recognized status and the factual control by Ukraine in these regions, we are seeking clarification regarding the reported embargo or restrictions on access to Electronic Arts (EA) games for users in these specific areas.
Could you please provide information on:
- Who within EA made the decision to include Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in any restrictive measures or embargoes?
- Can I contact the person who made the decision about this embargo to discuss the criteria used to apply these restrictions to regions that are under the control of the Ukrainian government and are internationally recognized as Ukrainian territory?
We urge you to review this policy immediately to ensure that users in Ukrainian-controlled territories are not unfairly excluded from purchasing and playing EA titles.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter.
