Sims 3 expansion won't download

I'm also having an issue downloading sims 3 (fresh install on my pc, no preexisting files, was forced to download EA app to replace origin) Everything downloads fine until sims 3 pets, and sims 3 island paradise. Neither of those will install, they are stuck on 'preparing download'. I've contacted EA like...idk...5 times, only to have my ticket immediately closed, get a cookie cutter response via email that offers NO solution, or just now, having had to LOOK UP their customer service number, calling them only to have the 'tech support' person tell me to run a 'clean boot' on my computer, saying it should fix my problem and then disconnecting the call before I even have a chance to TRY this solution. (That did NOTHING to help). I'm at a loss, and since I refuse to play sims 3 without the pets expansion, I cannot play the sims. 

Its nearly MARCH 2023, how the **** have they not fixed this yet?

I'm literally going through the same thing except the EP that I'm having problems with is Showtime. 

Last week, EA app wouldn't launch my game saying "There was an error on our end that caused the launch to fail." 

I uninstalled, reinstalled, did a factory reset, nothing worked. Then I realized that not only was the game not launching, I have 12 EP's and one of them never downloaded, it just kept "Preparing".

I got on here and was told to download origin again and try installing showtime that way.

I was skeptical because I was trying to download origin an hour before and it wouldn't work, but miraculously IT WORKED THIS TIME!

I downloaded all my games, it ran normally and this was last friday/saturday.

Fastforward to Monday, and during the day the game was running fine.

Come evening, origin forced me to install the EA app and I just knew that the honeymoon stage was over.

First the game wouldn't launch, same error message saying there's an error on their end.

So I gave up, but got an answer on a forum that the problem was fixed and to try again (like two days ago).

I downloaded EA app again, downloaded and installed the base game and it launched!

Then I go to download all my EP's and whadayaknow! Showtime STILL won't download. 

EA Customer support is ZERO help because I get those same emails about troubleshooting and it's like..... HELLOOOOOO. Clearly the problem isn't my computer if it was working perfectly fine before then YOUR application forced me to switch to something that's been nothing but trouble!!!

On one very small end I'm glad that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, but on the other end... the fact that each of us are experiencing this issue with respectively different EP's IS more troubling than it is comforting. 

BRING BACK ORIGIN FOR PC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Getting stuck on preparing for university life and remaining expansion packs. tried uninstalling and redownloading to no avail this is on my windows 11 pc

i have this issue with pets and island paradise. ive emailed and done every single thing asked of me to troubleshoot it, no dice. the successfully installed packs are university, supernatural, seasons, late night, and generations. i pretty consistently see people complain about pets but sometimes it seems random. very very annoying, i just have a new computer and have owned all these packs for many years. im going to try origin tmrw but i actually recall having an issue like this on origin, just cannot remember how i fixed it.

All of my Sims games are on a disc except for one: The Sims 3 Into the Future.  So far I have no been able to download it using the EA app.  I always end up with a popup that says an error occurred.  I checked some file called EABackgroundService.log and saw this error

I'm not sure what is missing.

I'm having this same issue, and EA sent me back to these forums. They make it impossible to get help, don't they?

• What content is not installing
• An EA Error Report ID Number

I completely switched to a new system this year and at the same time moved over to the EA App (which so far I despise.) Top of the list of complaints is that Sims 3 will not install fully. It installs about half of the packs and then gets stuck preparing and will not finish installing. The only fix i have been able to find is "just install it with Origin" which is not a solution for me because Origin now no longer functions even with an installer. You open it and find a popup telling you have to switch to the ea app. You cannot close this pop up. So. How the fresh hell do I get all of my Sims 3 packs installed?
