Account Disabled - no response from EA

I'm a complete novice. At 40 plus age bought my first Playstation a week ago and installed F1 24 bought officially via Amazon. In 3 days the account got disabled without any reason or notice. It's a registered Playstation, official CD, played only on my device. Haven't used any bots. Yet I have to face the ban which is totally uncalled for. At least give us a chance and educate us on why you think the account should be disabled, so that we can course correct. As someone who is a total novice to gaming world I really found it very tough to even get the registration process completed. I just expect the CD to run on my personal device.

  • Hi 40md1yb1asl4,

A disabled account isn't necessarily the same as a banned account, so you may not actually be banned. Do any messages appear when you try to play F1? They might have some further information that'll help work out what's going on.

Also, you might want to check your ban history by logging into your EA account and viewing "My Ban History". Not all bans appear there, but usually, it's a good indicator if nothing appears there. However, in case it helps you at all, I've included a link to the guide containing the appeals process in case it comes in handy.

Thank you ElliotLH for the response. I am attaching the snapshot of the message I received from EA. Honestly, I found the whole setup process complicated. I had a new Playstation and New Disc. Would just have expected plug and play. Not sure what went wrong. I can't even login to the account.

Now, I can only play offline local games but can't take part in the League feature or other online features. If playing an entertainment game can get this complicated, really wonder what we pay for :-(.

Thanks for adding the screenshot, but I'm sorry to see that. Clearly, I was a bit too hopeful that it was another problem rather than being an actual ban.

All I can suggest in this case, unfortunately, is to use the contact link in the "How to appeal a lock, ban, or suspension" section of the guide I shared earlier. That will put you in direct contact with the ToS team and let you appeal at least, although there is no guarantee that the ban will be revoked.

  • The EA Team is really unhelpful. They just said I violated Terms of Sale and / or User agreement, without saying what exactly I did wrong. I registered my Playstation first to a gmail ID. Then when installing F1, my EA account was created using a non gmail ID. Could this have caused issue? Though I don't see why. What should matter is that the PlayStation is an authorised device and the Disc installation was also done on that authorized device, the disc itself was new. I will never buy anything from EA. Had heard good words about their games, didn't know it will end up like this.

I don't think using a non-Gmail account would have been a factor - I use an old Hotmail email address for mine, for example. They unfortunately won't be exact with the reason, and as they're citing both the Terms of Service and Terms of Sale it's quite broad and covers everything from using exploits to chargebacks.

While I don't know if it is the case, it could be that the purchase on Amazon was handled by a marketplace seller who was offering unofficial codes (the receipt should confirm who the seller actually was). However, just to be clear, that is a complete guess and may not be the case at all.

I'm really sorry, but all you can do in this case is to collect as much information as possible and try appealing again. Generally speaking, there are usually three appeals allowed before they will no longer investigate.
