Tbf now late arrivals can sub in for bots, players can watch the games as long as at least one person is willing to stream it and you can buy points to progress you pro and buy accessories, the only thing you don't have is 11 vs 11 in drop in games, but then again that would be complete chaos. as far as it becoming about just spamming crosses, well that's just the player base finding ways to exploit the mechanics and that will always be a thing. Any proper league you are in will ban those things with height restriction, and other set of rules.
BUT
I do agree, clubs has more potential then any other game mode and it's a shame that EA can't or won't see that.
only 1 sub and it doesnt always work sometimes its glitched.. and no one can spectate the game from bench either.
