Let the manual BE REAL MANUAL.

I’ve always played FIFA, since 94. Now EA FC. However, every time I’ve played, I’ve really enjoyed using manual or semi-assisted modes. The problem is that whenever I’m playing on manual, I don’t actually have full control over my player’s movement.

If I push the ball forward and want to sprint to close that gap, I simply can’t. The player runs in whatever direction the game decides. When I’m defending, I can’t properly close spaces because my players just open up gaps, like the sea parting, allowing the opponent’s attacker to walk through and score.

It’s incredible — and frustrating — how consistently this happens to everyone.

What I really want is for players, when using manual mode, to have full and absolute control over the movement of every player. If I make a pass, I want to run to receive the ball. I want to be the one deciding that movement — not have the player running endlessly forward or in random directions just because that’s how the game is coded.

If you offer a manual mode, then it should truly be manual — not this illusion of control that exists today.

It’s frustrating, disappointing, and it shows that you’re unable to create a challenging game without taking control away from the player in decisive moments.
