Defenders | Wingbacks | Player Roles Broken | Pressure

As this who know many player roles are broken and have been posted about by many people on here, none more than the Wingbacks attacking wingbacks and attacking inverted wingbacks.

Versatile winger are also broken as they don't swap with each other.

Wingers also don't hug the sidelines and drift inside at times, this means that a switch of play is almost impossible to do as any long pass from fullback to winger is very likely to be intercepted by a fullback header. (Maybe you need to bring is a role for winger that makes them hug the sidelines until their is an option to drift into the back post. As some people may like the winger be a little more narrow and supporting.) Being able to stretch teams is how you break down a baked buss team or get out of an extreme pressure scenarios. 

Ball playing defender Build up doesn't join the midfield properly as well, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. They don't make a single CDM or really a double pivot with a CDM in any formation constant and it just feel like random positioning . ( should be able to make a 3241 shape with the CDM in the mid and the fullbacks and other CB make a back 3 but it doesn't really work properly.

(Suggestion) Ball playing defender (probably Agressive) should step into the opponent's half to keep the team tighter for those who want to apply pressure with a higher lines but instead also retreat to the halfway line making it so easy to counter against a higher line.  Always such a big gap forms when playing Higher lines between the CDM/ CM and the CB making it too easy to counter in this game.  (Just no risk reward in playing a high pressure or high line in this game ATM mainly due to this IMO) 

Wingbacks are broken as they only make attacking runs forward when the ball is in a certain radius on their side. This causes problems as you can never have  bother fullbacks attacking at the same times with this and also they don't take positions higher up the pitch to offer a passing option out of pressure or and switch of play, so this makes any person who wants a wingback based tactic to create width or over load a defence pointless. Also the same problem for Attacking inverted wingback as they don't push up into the space on the build up and just keep in a flat back 4. This is one of the reasons why the game is park the bus counter as young can't push your team up high enough to stop a person countering quickly due to all the players trying to drop back into a flat-back 4 / 5 instead of pressuring or marking the space.  

These issues also make you unable to overload the set defences with numbers properly and also be able to stop counter attacks a breaks sooner along with playing out of a press with width.

Fix this issue and the cbs drop back positioning  with them not putting on any pressure at times, then players would be able to pressure and punish those who go out their way to try sit back and counter. This would help stop the easy counter attacks with 1 pass and would require a more skilled passing pattern of play to create a counter from an extreme dropped back team position weeding out the people who can skilfully counter attack though pressure to those who just Abuse 1 pass and pace. The game feels end to end because people who want to play with higher pressure are punished with their team constantly trying to drop back instead of holding a higher positions to cut the space. 

I feel these are some of the reasons people are not seeing but focusing more on defending AI when half the roles when on the balls are not really working as well as they should which would help a lot of players counter the park the bus counter meta. 

A lot of people may not agree but I feel that the Defending AI isn't as crazy as people feel but the Attack AI and build up is so un helpful especially around the box when the defending team is set up, the movement can't be created to be able to pass though teams. So then to break down a defence you have to almost get lucky or use game breaking glitchy skills or dribbling.  (add in any unresponsive gameplay on busy hours, this causes the only option to really attack to be counters) 

Last point, is when chasing a game and a persons is passing it round the back, the AI sometimes just doesn't want to push up and apply pressure allowing for it to be easy for a person to pass it round the back. This could be solved by making a loosing team step up higher than normal or adding in some form of content pressure (maybe only from the 80min + ) causing their be less space for a person to just hold it round the back. It can feel like there is a magnet is pulling your team back at times when trying to press even tho if in real life you would be throwing everything at the opponent trying to get the ball back not having half you team stay back trying to man mark still.
