Playstation Tournament Mishap

I was playing in a playstation tournament for 500 fc points and i got to the semi-finals. The pop up notification came up to say that i could join the match and i did. When i joined it said waiting for opponent until the game timed out and kicked me out of it. 2 minutes later i get another pop-up saying to review my final placement, basically saying that i lost the game but i joined and was waiting for my opponent who never joined. And it takes me out of the tournament and sends my opponent through to the finals that I should be in.
