Xbox one online game modes NOT WORKING

I’m on xbox one and whenever i enter an online game mode i lose control of my players. They run off in random directions when im not pressing the buttons for them to do so. 

This stops me from being able to play the game i paid for. 

It is not an issue with my controller as it works perfectly fine in other games and in offline modes like squad battles. This needs to be fixed as it has made the game unplayable for me.
