Did you download the game through EA Play and not just from the PS store?

Try launching the game through EA Play and not the trial that you had downloaded for the free weekend. Let me know if that helps or not.

There's been a little confusion here so I just want to make sure I'm clear. This is what I need to know: Did any of you on PS5 ever download the game during the free play weekend (Feb 13th - 16th) or have you only downloaded the game as part of your EA Play Subscription?

downloaded as part of my ea play subscription, uninstalled today and reinstalled through the ea play portal and still the same issue (ps5)

Can you get a screenshot of the button you're hitting that is causing this error?

I am getting the error when I try and go into CHEL. Will have to screenshot it tonight when I get home. 

I get blocked when I do anything related to online. Buying UT points, trying to play anything in HUT, or entering Chel

When you say you're blocked, does that same error message about permissions come up any time to try what you mentioned?
