I like the skateboarding mechanics but that's about it.
The rest of the game is soulless and has no sense of depth, progression or cultural context.
And if skateboarding mechanics is the only good thing, well I could go back to Skater XL which has the best skateboard mechanics by far. The only problem with that game was that the maps were completely lifeless (no NPCs or environmental effects at all) and there was no career at all. But, I mean, Skate 4 doesn't really offer much 'life' to the game either.
Skate 4 is crushingly corporate, soulless, no depth, nothing, I can't see it getting any better unless they do a MASSIVE overhaul.
Its not skate 4 it's skate., that's the first thing in the description is that they're rewriting everything we know of the franchise, which isn't too bad except the RIDICULOUS cosmetics.. I don't wanna see chicken suits and grim reapers literally flying around the game while I'm trying to have a leisurely sesh. If it was real life it's the equivalent of the soccer mom who brings her scooter kid to the skatepark just for him to snake everyone. And their brands are another 🤦🏼 the whole point of skating as a career irl as an adult is to get sponsored. All different brands sponsor hella skaters and they only have vans and thrasher. Poser brands for poser developers. A backside flip is called a "kickflip 180" and a big spin's called a "360 pop-shove it 180" 🤣💯 these fools are **bleep** 🗿
