Is it worth spending crystals on kyrotech or gear? After spending crystals on energy refreshes I still have a small net income of crystals every day. With things like GAC event rewards and other things I gain crystals over time (4,300 right now). Kyrotechs and G13 take a long time for me right now so should I spend crystals on them?

In my opinion...
Your crystals just sit there doing nothing. It is best to spend it on gears (not gears from the store...they are scams! But gears on the shipments).
Just build your characters little by little by buying gears from time to time. Characters that are built little by little will serve you better than sitting amount of crystals.
They can strenghten your fleet so you can climb or at least preserve your fleet rank...if you are at rank-above-rank-50, it means you get daily crystals. With that daily crystals, you can buy more gears and so on and so forth...
They can survive better in GAC. Survive better in GAC = could mean a promotion to a better league = better daily crystal. Not to mention the GAC winning rewards.
That is how i play... I never keep too much tokens (various currencies with which you can buy something from the respective shipments) and crystals...
Hoarded tokens and crystals serve you nothing.
But what do i know...i have only been playing for 3+ months.

One more thing...when you buy a gear from a shipment, whenever possible, always buy the end product...not it's components...it is often cheaper that way.
For example...
This end product costs only 1k crystals.
It can be built using these two components. 60 component As = 780 crystals.
And 50 components Bs = 400 crystals.
(780 + 400) are more expensive than 1k crystal (the end product).
I've never been able to hoard and keep up with my energy refreshes consistently. When I find myself with 'extra' crystals (like that's a thing) I might use them for CCBs, or even more rarely, kyro if I'm really crunched for it. Spending 600 crystals a day on refreshes can make it tough to save much though. On very rare occasion I'll spend on a pack - like the one the other day that dropped two full G12 pieces for 2k crystals. That one's hard to pass up. Generally speaking though, I'm hard pressed to find a more efficient use for crystals than energy refreshes.

These packs are some of the worst value in the game.
So just preemptively tossing my mod stats at the top. I know they’re not awesome but they get the job done in all areas. I’ve always questioned the ROI for mod refreshes. I obviously don’t ignore mods but I just don’t see 54775 crystals a year on mod refreshes returning enough in rewards to be justified.
When you also consider that when mods are the most beneficial (early game) is also when you have the biggest crystal crunch, I just have a hard time telling people to spend a 1050 crystals a week on mod refreshes.
How long have you played and what is your GP and what is your GAC placement.
Consistent mod energy refreshes give better mods full stop.
I knew I draw your ire @tvf. I don’t disagree with anything you said. 9.6 million 5.5 year 3504 skill rating and I don’t spend much time on gac as I’m content with my income. My argument is if you don’t already have all 7 gls aphra sk profundity executor then your crystals are better spent getting the teams/ships you’re missing up then on improving mods on characters 50 plus in need.
Do it if you can afford it or prefer pvp more to pve. Im a pve fan. My crystals are better spent elsewhere but obviously ymmv
