Technical Help installing Roaring Heights.

Hi! Hope everyone is safe and well! :)

I was just directed here by EA help & support who said perhaps the Forum Moderator who has more experience could help.

I purchased Roaring Heights today on EA. The EA app said I had new in-game content. However, it was not installed in the game. The EA help associate had me go to the Sims 3 site and after I redeemed the code there, I could click it for download, however it would not get passed a 'member login' for the sims 3 launcher. The sims launcher was already logged in fine of course. The EA support person had me change passwords everywhere, but still the 'member login' that popped up from the download would not login like the launcher's own login, the sims 3 site or EA and it's app would.. So I have not been able to get the world package to my machine for the sims 3 package installer to install it.

Thank you, any help and guidance, to get it to work would be appreciated!

  • Gamewan  That is certainly a less-than-ideal solution, but the important thing is that it worked.  And thanks for letting me know what helped you.  If you like, you can designate your answer as the solution by clicking "Mark as Solution" in the lower-left corner of the post,.

  • Gamewan  Instead of using the Downloads Dashboard at the Main Menu, can you download Roaring Heights directly from the Store site, either from your purchase history or its product page?

You shouldn't need to login to the launcher to install Store content.  But if you're asked to do so, one possible cause is the product code for your installed copy of Sims 3 not matching the one on file for your Store content.  For example, if you had a Steam install and had not registered its code, the Store site wouldn't "know" that install belonged to you, the person who'd bought this Store content.  This can also be a problem with installs from discs that were never registered.  Let me know if this might be the issue.

Thank you for your reply! I appreciate the time taken and input. Yes, that was the idea of the EA associate as well, that is, to go to the sims 3 site and get it from purchase history. This seemed to have an issue on two files, roaring heights and another store file. The issue being another login screen marked 'member login' comes up over the already logged in sims 3 launcher. The 'extra' login screen does not accept the same login as the sims 3 launcher, site, ea, ect.

So, tried a few things, repairing the game file/filesystem, renaming relevant folders such as the downloads folder where the login bin file is, letting the game create a new one. These things did not work. I reinstalled a legacy origin and logged into that with the same, newer EA login, and it worked after that, and that was with the EA redirect on the old legacy origin client screen. Whatever reinstalling did, the appearance is it fixed the original files, which were probably origin related files. I can mark this as closed now, if that is an option! Thank you again for all the assist. Merry Holidays, hope everyone's safe, warm & well. šŸ™ šŸ˜‡ šŸ™
