Gameplay idea :
Globally the game doesn't include deep connections between sims, Club system is nice to define group activities but from a social aspect it misses this emotional connection, special relationships (committed friendship) halfway between friendly relationship and romance :
- Bromance (Playful Rivalry & Shared Shenanigans)
- Challenge each other
- Dare to do Romantic, Funny or Mischievous interactions with a specific sim
- Share a meal in silence : Enjoy being together is enough to strength their friendship
- Wingman : Romantic interactions always succeed when bros are together
- Offer to fix problem : Objects are broken ? No problem, bro will fix them
- Shared Laughter : Immune to Death by Laughter
- Protective Standby : Bro's enemies become my enemies
- Autonomous NPC behavior :
- Useful Gift : Collecting items ? Bro will give one that you didn't find yet.
- Spontaneous Mentoring : Starting a new skill ? Bro will come to help you to progress faster.
- Camaraderie (Mutual Support & Shared Growth)
- Cheer : Boost skill progression similar to gym trainer and Energy decreases slower.
- Collaborate on personal projects : When a sim start to create something (write a book, paint, ... ), other sims will help to finish it faster.
- Emotional Support : Never let a friend with a negative emotion, try to fix together the negative moodlets
- Shared goals/projects : Restore a house, build a tree house, street art, ...
- Celebration Hug : Achieve a goal together is a big satisfaction
- Supportive Hug : When the situation is bad or good, it's always nice to feel the support of others as a reminder that you're alone
Loyal sims could like these relationships and Non-committal sims wouldn't like them. It could bother Jealous sims if their partner have them.
Note :
People can have a very good relationship with someone but it doesn't necessarily mean this person matters. In particular in The Sims 4 where any NPC townies want to become best friends but will do nothing for you in return.
