~ Character height adjustment in CAS
This would be great! My first couple character builds were game versions of my wife and myself. I'm taller than my wife, but I couldn't get the game versions to reflect that.
~ Pre-teen life phase
Another possibility would be for pre-adult Sims to grow as they progress through a life stage. Rather than have a child magically turn into a teen (who looks almost like an adult), a child could start shorter and less mature, and then grow to pre-teen size before aging up. And teens could start a little taller than pre-teen size, and then grow to nearly adult size before aging up.
~ Why does my sim always wear a bikini?
Likewise, Sims should change out of their sleepwear if another Sim visits in the morning.
Expanding on the growth during pre-adult life phases...
Having the appearance of Sims be continuously changing is probably too much of an ask. So maybe their could be sub-phases.
Newborn, infant, and toddler are pretty short phases, so they could be left the way they are.
Child is 2 weeks (normal lifespan), so that could be divided into early childhood (smaller) and late childhood (larger, almost pre-teen).
Teen is 3 weeks (normal lifespan), so that could be divided into three sub-phases, roughly middle school, early high school, and late high school.
