EA Steam Sync Issue
This is a long explanation but I'm not really sure what else to do.
I was playing using the EA app but noticed none of the dlc's I bought from steam were on there so I closed out and tried to download them, couldn't figure out how. I close my computer, come back later and I'm signed out, it won't send the verification code three separate times, restart computer, it sends the code and I can sign in.
To sync them, I put the folder in the onedrive into the desktop folder which I saw somewhere might work, it did, I was able to get all dlc's. The problem is when I opened my game, my save file was gone, it was my only save file as I recently got a new computer and all the other had gotten deleted when I set up this one. At first it said there was 3 sync issues, access permissions to steam, access permission to google chrome, and one app being used in the background, I fixed all of them, still nothing.
Here's the things I tried to do that did not work (I opened the game to check after each one):
Delete the folder from desktop
Uninstalled the game from both steam and EA and reinstalled with no folder
Put the folder back
Make a new game, try to load game to see if a save slot would come up that I could recover
Deleting just the steam one
A variety of different installments and having or not having the folder there.
Extra details:
Every time I open the app on EA it says "some of your files are corrupted, a repair should do the trick" or something like that.
I can see the save file in the sims 4 file on onedrive as well as any screenshots I took. The game just doesn't recognize it. I don't think I backed up any saves but I am not entirely sure.
None of the sims or the house is available in the gallery. This happened when I got a new computer too even though I saved several households and lots to the gallery on the account.
The exact dlc's I have:
EA - Werewolf, Vampire, Movie Hangout, Holiday Celebration, Get Together, Get To Work, Dine Out, Cats and Dogs
Steam - Cottage Living, My First Pet, Pastel Pop
The EA ones were the only ones I had installed for that save file, the others weren't on there. At some point I was able to get steam but not EA which is also an issue because one of the sims owns a restaurant, one's a vampire (one of the base sims that come with the pack), one's a scientist, I wouldn't mind not having the job ones but now I can't get the save back at all. I don't know if this is something I did to myself and messed up the files or if it glitched out when I downloaded the other packs, I think it's a syncing issue but I can't tell if I fixed the permissions or not. I'm not really sure what else to do and would love any suggestions. Thank you!
