@The_Suit05 It would be nice if it worked that way, but I doubt the part of the team responsible for creating new content, design, etc are the same people who work on bug fixes. I'm not a developer or a programmer, but it seems to me from my limited knowledge of how this process works, stopping everyone else's job wouldn't solve our issues. That said, I'm sorry you are having a problem with the pack; did you create a post for it in the bug forum? That is the best way to get the team to take a look at it. 🙂
@The_Suit05 here's a link to the compiled list of bugs. There's quite a list for DHD unfortunately it's been a problematic addition.
I've started treating it like a Stuff Pack and use the content instead of the gameplay. I'm still glad I have it because I think the game needed the items, especially the sofas and kitchens. I love the career but as you rightly say, it's broken. Such a shame too as that would be my dream job. To this day I only have one decorator Sim and I've recreated her in a few games. Poor Xari, she has the buggiest of all buggy jobs. It just doesn't work at all. But I keep hoping it's going to be fixed as it's such a great concept and it had a massive draw for builders like me. I found that talking to the customers for a long time helped as it revealed more likes that popped up in your notifications as well as on the career panel, you could also nip into Manage Households before the job starts and take a look at their likes in CAS then make a note before travelling to their house.
There's also a slotting issue with the modular furniture going to the household inventory on loading and fyi if you ever have that there is a workaround. Just save the affected room to your library and then place it again. The saved room seems to keep everything in it's place.
Edit: Just remembered another tip with the work day getting stuck. I keep a backup save which I save before setting off to the gig. If there's an issue for any reason with the gig I can revert back to my backup save and start again.
This is not meant to be hate, I would like to emphasize that.
it's about all the bugs that have existed for a long time. i have no idea who is responsible for this and in what order the whole thing runs, but at EA / Sims team work many people. it is always released more content where more and more bugs are added. i do not understand this. i love sims, i play since the 2nd part and have almost all the content. but when i see that in the world of growing together the power walk does not work, the gardening still makes such problems (etc etc) inhibits the game fun immensely.bikes- such a great feature, they still drive through the house, the bikes are parked somewhere in the world and you are allowed to search for them. why?? is something like this still being fixed?
i am really looking forward to the upcoming stuff pack but i am already afraid that the sims will only use the objects like with the ice cream machine or the popcorn machine.
if you think about the bug with the kids and the teeth in growing together that the feature was briefly removed and fixed you see HOW FAST that can go! why not the other things? i want to mention again this is not hate, i just want to understand it! i know sims 4 is a big game and has an insane amount of content. but sometimes i feel like no one cares anymore.

I'm grateful for this forum where it is mostly people with positive attitudes, who love the game, yet want to be able to voice their concerns/ideas, etc. I do hope MWS and DHD get revisited, and soon.

This. 100 times this.
If your car breaks down and the mechanic is already busy fixing another car, having all of the other employees at the dealership stop what they're doing isn't going to get your car fixed any faster, it's just going to make everyone else wait longer for everything else too. The Sims 4 is a massive franchise with a ton of content available for it both big and small from full on Expansion Packs to more niche offerings like our Kits. Unfortunately when you have such a complex system of interconnected DLCs it's extremely easy for something we add to the game tomorrow to somehow break a 9 year old system, or vice versa.
If we had it our way there wouldn't be a need for Bug Reports or game updates to fix issues, but until that day arrives we'll keep tracking, investigating, and ultimately fixing the issues as fast as we can. Unfortunately when it comes bugs, having to sift through nearly a decade worth of code to determine the cause is also extremely time consuming, which is why it sometimes takes much longer than we would like to resolve them.
don't get mad at me, but for me the comparison is a bit misleading. ea is a large company with many employees.
i understand that everyone has their own area and some things take time. but when i pay money for something i want it to work. i don't go to the store and buy something broken.yes it takes time but what about things that have been around for a long time? dine out for example i can't make sense of the gameplay. i'm almost 42 and love this game, i try to approach it with common sense and some things don't make sense to me. for example, when so much content comes out - which i'm personally very happy about - it's clear that it always takes longer to fix problems.
i stress again this is not meant to be hate. i'm also not the person who says omg i want spiral stairs, omg i want cars. omg i want this and that.
i would like to see more transparency, for example, that it is communicated on which problems are currently being worked on. that you as a player know aaah that's great that will work soon.
it's a shame that you just can't use some gameplay features because it's broken. i think it's a shame because sims in general is a great game!

@KleinNici81 I agree with you. We paid for a product that should be in excellent working order when we receive it.
I love the game and have been playing since the original.

@EA_CadeThis a million times! I know i complain alot about the spa nails but they arent a high priority. You guys are so busy with all the bjg issues small issues need to wait. Like when we had the major face bug it was classed as a critical issue in my eyes and was fixed in a timely mannor. So the way you guys do thinks makes alot of sense and just major props to you guys. And another factor is upcoming pack/content releases which ALSO need fixes which most of us don’t consider. Please pass on my thanks to the team for looking into these issues and finding a fix for the photos, plants resetting and more!

I love this game so much and I understand coding is hard so I get that fixing bugs isn’t easy. That’s why I’m very mixed about this.
However @EA_Cade, it’s one thing to have a few bugs (especially small visual ones) but big gameplay breaking bugs should not be getting out to the public. Those are meant to be caught during game testing. And some packs are genuinely scam like because the player doesn’t know how broken it’s going to be.
I wouldn’t buy a tv that can’t turn on and therefore shouldn’t be paying money for content I can’t play with because it’s too broken. A product does need to work as intended. If a tv was found that couldn’t turn on or be used after you bought it then the company that made it would pull it from production. It is unacceptable to sell a product whether physical or digital that is inherently unusable or faulty. The following packs are faulty products that I think they should remove from sale until fixed and offer refunds for (I know EA will probably never do this or read this but this is just my opinion):
1) dine out (that pack doesn’t work as intended at all. People who bought it should be able to get refunded. If you are going to keep selling it it needs to be much cheaper kit or stuff pack price and come with a warning saying it is very buggy)
2) My wedding stories (same as dine out)
3) Dream Home Decorator (same as dine out and and my wedding stories)
3) Bust the dust (very glitchy and dust bunnies are way too op. Also dust build up is too fast from what I hear. Plus the glittery effect on a clean floor annoys most people a lot. If you are gonna sell this pack it needs to be discounted and have a warning about its poor quality)
4) Horse Ranch (price it as a game pack and this one is probably more okay but it is not a expansion worth of content and it is super glitchy/poor quality)
5) Bathroom clutter kit (it is ridiculous that the candle in this pack doesn’t work as a candle. For the price you charge for kits I expect every object to have been thought out properly. So glad I saw reviews on this pack and didn’t buy it)
Those were all the packs I thought were scams and are unreasonable. These are ones I don’t like and think should maybe be addressed but they aren’t all out “scams”.
1) Growing Together (also just feels more like a gamepack to be honest. Doesn’t feel worth the asking price)
2) kits in general. If they were $2, $3 (or maybe $5 at the most) I’d be buying them buy the hundreds but for me they cost $7 Canadian and that is honestly not worth the asking price. I could buy dlc with actual gameplay for that price from other games.
would really love for someone from EA to read this. It’s not meant to be rude or hateful because I love this game. I’m super excited for your upcoming home chef hustle pack and really appreciate the quality of many of your other packs (vampires, paranormal stuff, nifty knitting, laundry day, werewolves, cottage living, the refreshed spa day, city living, parenthood and more) are all wonderful packs that work well enough for me. I just think all stuff should be as functional as these packs and you shouldn’t be selling broken content. I personally would love partial or full refunds for dine out or dream home decorator because I do feel a little scammed by those packs.
I love this franchise and just don’t want any other players to feel scammed or turned away because they buy broken content. (I personally have not bought anything since werewolves because of how broken things have been. I also deeply regret having bought dream home decorator and dine out). If I pay for content I do expect it to work.
