Married Sims Unable to Sleep on Same Bed

My sims recently married after a long healthy relationship. I tried having them sleep on the same bed and one would always leave the bed after the other hop on. The sim that left the bed will no longer have the sleep option when the second sim is actively sleeping in it. 

Here is more context:

• my sims have maxed out their romance bar with each other
• they are in a very satisfying relationship (per love struck expansion pack)
• they are spouse with each other in CAS
• I have tried different beds
• I have placed bed in different rooms
• I cleared the bed’s surrounding to ensure no object was interfering.(I went as far as to place the bed on an empty lot)
• I had the sims woohoo on said bed
• I have restarted the game and my computer multiple times.

please if anyone could help. I am sick and tired of this BS.
