Re: Save file not showing up in game :(

Hi @puzzlezaddict thanks for your reply! Here's a screenshot of the file path. There is a file labeled Slot_00000002.save.ver1 as well

@allyang95  I can't see the full file path from your screenshot, but you can get it by right-clicking (or holding crtl and clicking) on the save and selecting Get Info.  The important question though is whether the save is in the local version of Documents or the one in your iCloud drive.  If the save has been uploaded to iCloud and there's no local copy, the game won't be able to find it.

The fix would be to disable iCloud's automatic syncing and then move the save back to the local Documents folder; the full file path (shown in Get Info) should be:

Macintosh HD > Users > [your username] > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves

Here's how to change your iCloud settings:

You don't need to disable iCloud entirely; it's just the auto syncing that's an issue.

Thank you so much @puzzlezaddict! You're right, it was uploaded to the iCloud so I disabled iCloud's automatic syncing and moved the save back to the local Documents folder. The file path is now ‎⁨Macintosh HD⁩ ▸ ⁨Users⁩ ▸ ⁨allyang95⁩ ▸ ⁨Documents⁩ ▸ ⁨Electronic Arts⁩ ▸ ⁨The Sims 4⁩ ▸ ⁨saves⁩

However, when I loaded the game, this save file still didn't show up!! Do you know why this might be? Thank you for all your help.

@allyang95  Try a different save, just to see whether the issue is with the particular save or something on your system.  You can take any of the saves in your earlier screenshot and change its name to Slot_00000003.save, as in, it ends in 3 followed by .save, with no other numbers or extensions.

If that save doesn't load either, please load your game, create a new save (no need to spend much time on it), save your progress, go back to the Main Menu, and click Load Game.  You'll see a folder icon below some info about the new save.  If you hover over the folder icon, it will display the file path to the save you've just created; that's the folder the game is reading and where your other save needs to be.

Just a note:  If you do create a new save where there weren't any before, the new save will also be labeled Slot_00000002.save.  So before moving over your original save with the same name, either delete the new save or change the number in it so the two save files don't have the same name.
