Sorry for the late reply! Fam duties! The second try was successful, I haven't tried building/gameplay in it yet, but I did manage to make a new save file and reload as is, and not showing as if it's another save file of mine.
Sounds like something just went horribly wrong with that other save then.
Moving this to the gameplay forum. Do come back if you have further issues though.
(continue to keep backups. I would make multiple as your save sounds really important)
