I have bee playing Sims 4 for over 4500 hours. I downloaded the game the day it released. I have played toddlers since their inception in 2017. For the last 5+ years i have put a high chair in every house and deleted it just about as soon as the toddler got hungry. Toddlers have fed themselves for 5+ years.
The infant update last week fixed the high chairs. I am ecstatic. I had to say thank you!
@dragonflysara I haven't tried toddlers in the updated highchair yet, but infants worked well for me! 🙌 I'm also excited to try it out with toddlers finally after all these years! 😃 ( @SheriGR and myself used to call them the Evil Highchairs! 🤣 )

Funny, since the last update my high chairs are messed up. I can't feed my infant any food to try out. The parent gets a routing issue.
@PlumDutchess I ran into something that may be a thing or not, as I was avoiding using the highchairs for maybe close to a couple of years, so I'm comparing to previous memories of using them...
When testing the build I just revised from a previous version, I found my Sim parent could put food on the high chair but could not put the toddler in the high chair. this high chair, which snapped to the table like the chairs do, was placed not using MOO against the table, and the back of the high chair was close to the wall, but not too close. However, as I said, it gave the parents a routing issue. Turned out that all I had to do was snap it to the table in a way that the parent could fully route behind the chair and place the toddler in. I tested further and it turns out that the parent can only place the toddler in from straight in front or straight behind the highchair. Is it possible your Sim cannot access the chair by straight in front or behind? If you stick the high cahir in the middle of the room with nothing near it, can they use it then?
If that's not the issue, do you have Mods or CC? If so, try removing them and the localthumbcache.package file and see if the issue remains.
@PlumDutchess Hopefully that will be the issue and you can find which Mod/CC is the issue. You can test with an infant from the gallery in a new/vanilla game save after removing the Mods folder and cache file. Please try doing so as follows: Close your game. Move the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then see if the issue is gone, in a new game save. 🤞
