The sims 4 pets unmergable in cas?

I have this problem as well. I try to add a pet from gallery into a family while in CAS and the sims pictures at the bottom grey out and it tells me "disabled while playing with genetics". This has happened since before the last update and I was hoping it would've been fixed in this update. I can't add a pet into a household like I saw another person comment as my game isn't working right since the update and I can only make sims in CAS for the time being. 

I tried that dog you posted the screenshot of yesterday and had no issues adding it to my family. I'm on PC though.

Can you upload the video to unlisted youtube or some files sharing site ?

So I just tried what you recommended and it still didn't work, I'm thinking it's because I got the pet off the gallery since pets from the gallery seem to not work right now? Like I tried making a pet then saved it to the gallery then merged it and it worked but for some reason the actual realistic dog and cat that I wanted doesn't seem to work? Whelp, there goes the sims 4. I might just have to stop playing for a while and hope they actually fix the game. Thanks a lot!!

DreamiiMochi​   Have you tried merging the households by dropping the dog on the sim's household lot.  That way, you never enter CAS.

Okay, I've managed to screen record a bit of the issue. However I'm unable to upload the screen recording? So I'll try my best to explain it the best I can. I saved these cute little pups and a couple of cats to my library so I didn't have to go through my gallery in order to find them again since I have a lot of things saved, however every time I try to merge any pet (e.g. cat, dog, horse) it makes my sim kinda greyed out? And when I hover my cursor over the sim it says something about being 'disabled whilst playing with genetics'. Though I never once clicked play with genetics? btw my personal belief is that this only started happening with this new update... Though I could be wrong. I hope this explanation was clear and concise.

when exactly doesn't it load ? In CAS ? Does the dog not get added to the household ? Is it just dogs you are having issues with ? Just that particular one ?
