New World Plot Sizes - Are you kidding me!?!?!?

Why on earth have the new world's largest plot sizes occupied by a family? Seriously? Cottage Living has a single 64 x 64 plot, and the Watson family owns it. Tartosa has a single 50 x 50 plot and yep, occupied. The two 50 x 40 plots? Occupied. The one 40 x 30 plot ... yes again, occupied. Give us a break and give us the larger plots to build on!!!

Yeah, but... it would be nice just to have more lots, right? Or the ability to place extra lots.

I agree with you but sadly the player is stuck with lots that are static and why I say creativity in this area is limited whereas in older versions the player was able to create lots and also place them where it was best, the creativity level for me was off the chain. EA/Maxis dropped that option not because of technical purposes, it was for the profits as the player must now depend on the developer to supply the lots and have no say in where they are placed or what size the player want Imo and yes, I am very critical of them for doing this and this may (will) never change.
  • I take the consolidation approach of moving the family in a lot I want into one with enough room. I don't play those households anyway, so who cares if a house for 2 has 8 in it.

I think the very simple reason for this is that they don't want their worlds to look empty or unfinished on release.
I'm personally more bothered when they have Community Lots with more than one bar, wedding arch etc. in the game or in general lots that are not build with actual gameplay in mind.
  • I’m dying for a new desert world with a 64x64 lot - StrangerVille has one but you can’t build on it without mods!

I'd actually prefer to have more smaller lots - the 20 x 15 for example. I like building starter homes & think that it's unrealistic for Sims moving into their first home to be living on a huge block. I also miss being able to place lots into the world so that you have can have a variety of buildings making up a community.

Small lots are also great for businesses, as you don't need a lot of space to run a restaurant or a shop.
  • 20 x 30 appears to be standard procedure for empty lots regardless of 'world'. The only exception that comes to mind is every lot is blank Newcrest.

It's my game, so I-the-Player/Watcher own all the lots in it. Besides, I don't care about the pre-mades, which is why I delete most of them from most of my saves, anyway. But if I did care enough to keep them and too much to evict them, I'd be annoyed, too.
  • My biggest complaint is I like to build on the large lots and I tend to over build and get to ambitious and end up with horrible lag. I play on a intense Alienware computer that I purchased just to handle playing the Sims without crashing all the time. Yes the answer is to just move the people out of the larger lots.
