Sims gaining skills WAY too fast

I'd start with the 50/50 method of checking mods. Something could have gotten corrupted.

I will give my sims the "never weary" "never hungry" "steel bladder" "needs no one" "savant" traits and then have them practice their skills for however long it takes to master them. Painting and music and dancing especially - I love love love that part of the game, the arts part. I don't mind them mastering their skills quickly, but I do enjoy the process. ...So I guess I'm not any help lol, that was just an aside I guess.

I give them helpful traits too, but this takes like 30 seconds to reach level 10. That's just not fun.

I actually slow mine down using the setting in MCCC. I did make the mistake recently of slowing it down too much (was experimenting with longer lifespan). Right now I’m finding -5 (fifty percent slower I believe) about right.

There are any number of lot traits and in game boosts that will speed up skill gain. Tiny houses can be super powered. Consider some of those too.

Remove mods, delete the localthumbcache file, repair game, then try it. If it is fixed, then a mod is the problem. Seemingly unrelated mods can cause issues if some mechanic in the game has been updated.

I just noticed this with my sim but I thought it was because he was a genius. He went from level 3 in parenting to level 9 in a matter of real life minutes. Sure he has twins but I thought that was a bit odd. I don't mind it though, he and his wife are sleep deprived and Super Efficient Baby Care is very helpful but has a cooling off period. Now both of them can use it.

It's probably not mods - I had this/have this with my overachievers, especially the women. I haven't had a chance to see if other traits are affected, but I do have a thread on AHQ about it.

My adventurous, loner teenager (so far the only active Sim in my only household this save) seemed to pick up the same thing. Went to waterside warble to practice mixology (employed as a Barista see) and the skill bar postively shot up.

And I have the skill gain lowered using MCCC . It WAS working as I'd expect then suddenly not. Possibly a bug being reintroduced with the very latest patch???

Oh, I hope it’s not a bug with the new patch and if it is that they correct it right away, I haven’t been on since the new patch.

I forgot MCCC could do that. I'll have to adjust that setting.
