Cant cook after Cottage Living installed

I literally decided to opt to play on a different map and I wanted to see if I can get the wild fox trait. When I went into edit traits, I saw Simple Living requires you to have the ingredients to cook!!! 

TOOK IT OFF THE LOTS AND BAM WORKED. 

(Really glad I wasn't the only one struggling with this!)

I had this issue too. It is because of the "simple living" lot challenge on that two bedroom lot in the new town. go to build-mode, click the house with the "i" in the middle (top left) and view the lot traits. Then click the trophy (lot challenges) and deselect the simple living (it has a refrigerator icon).  I was able to make meals after doing this!

I had the same problem, until I realized It's basically like living in the country side, Just grow ur own crops, get eggs, milk and Theres a Option in your phone to Order a delivery, once clicked you will see groceries and stuff ... so yea! 

I purposefully picked out the lot challenges "Simple Living" and "Off The Grid." But even if I have all the ingredients in my fridge and I click on the food for my sim to cook, they'll just put the ingredients on the counter and won't cook. I have a stove picked out that's functional off the grid. Every once in a while it'll work and my sims will cook, but, most of the time as I said they just put the ingredients down and won't do anything else. It's getting really annoying because ingredients are disappearing from the fridge, no food is really being made, and my sims are going to starve...

Hi hun, I had the same issue and realized my simple living challenge was on the lot. That's why all the food was greyed out. If you take it off, should work x

I was playing a sim that came with it. I sent her to the bar and click order food. I pick fish and chips she eat. I EA fixes it so our sims can cook at home.

I don’t if. Any of you here will see what I am writing because I just got cottage living today. I was waiting for it to come down it price in Origin. Oh, they can use the microwave so they will eat but like I said hope they make it so they cook at home. I never had this trouble with the other pack or the ext before.

@pkwint  As mentioned above, the Simple Living lot challenge requires ingredients to cook.  If you don't like Simple Living, you can go into Build Buy and remove it under lot traits.
